BWC UMM Sports Ministry Report

Overview:

In April 2025, the Westphalia UMM of the Washington East District had the joyful opportunity to attend a Baysox game with over 20 enthusiastic youth participants. This event was more than just a fun outing; it served to strengthen our Christian community spirit and foster engagement among the young participants. It also provided a meaningful way to support the Fairmont Heights High School Track and Field Team, reinforcing our

commitment to uplift and mentor our youth in faith and fellowship.

As part of our commitment to supporting local sports initiatives – showing the hands of Christ - we contributed to the Fairmont Heights High School Track and Field Team by raising

funds to purchase a personalized tent. The details of the tent are as follows:

  • Size 10 X 20 feet

  • Customization: "Fairmont Heights Track and Field Hornets"

  • Features: Waterproof and fire retardant

We successfully raised a total of $2,300.00 for this initiative. Additionally, we further supported the team by donating $800.00 for the purchase of 20 warm-up tops, ensuring that the athletes have the necessary gear for their training and competitions.

Upcoming Activities:

  • Looking ahead, we are excited about our upcoming engagement activities:

    • Fishing Trip in July 2025: We are planning to take between 10 to 15 youth on a fishing trip. This activity aims to promote teamwork and outdoor experiences.

    • Wizards Game in October 2025: We will also be organizing a trip for the youth to attend a Wizards game in October, providing another opportunity for community involvement and enjoyment of sports.

Conclusion:

These initiatives reflect our commitment as Christian men to positively impact the lives of our youth through sports and community engagement. We believe that by fostering their development in a supportive environment, we are helping to instill values of teamwork, perseverance, and faith. We are grateful for the support of everyone involved in making these activities possible, and we look forward to continuing our mission to guide and uplift our youth in the months ahead.

Recommendations:

  • Continued support for local school sports teams.

  • Expansion of youth engagement activities to include a variety of sports and outdoor experiences.
